Have you ever felt like you are not the parent you know you are supposed to be?
For years I struggled with severe migraines where the only thing I could do was go to bed. That left me with an unkept house and two kids that I was missing time with. I also suffered from horrible gut health which ranged from cramping, bloating and embarrassing gas. I even began to become anxious about simply eating out worried that restaurant-prepared food would set off my symptoms.
I am the caregiver in the family, and I was no longer able to take care of anything because I was sick all the time. Because of my declining health, my relationships with my friends and family suffered. I felt absent, powerless, and most importantly that I was not the Mom I knew I should be.
In 2012 I broke my foot and my whole life changed. I was no longer able to work as a restaurant manager, a position I had enjoyed for 23 years. I was devastated mentally and physically and had lost my income but more importantly, I was reliant on everyone else. No longer the caregiver I had become the dependent leaving me feeling completely worthless and depressed.
I was referred to Dr. Cameron Weishaar at Back In Motion PS Chiropractic for hip and low back pain. I realized that this moment was a turning point in my life. Dr. Cameron encouraged me to realize that I had a choice: To continue to live like I was, allowing my to health decay, my lifestyle to decline, and to suffer or chose health as my number one priority dedicating myself to the best chance to live as I deserved with a body that has strength, confidence, and resilience to take on any physical or mental challenges. Through Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) and nutritional counseling, I began to regain my posture and I am proud to share with you that I literally got my life back.
Through CBP I have learned that your brain and spinal cord control all the functions in your body and that spinal health is essential to your overall health.
Now I can fulfill my purpose, be the mom that I always knew I could be, and change the outcome of health for my entire family. That is priceless. I encourage you to make a choice right now as I did. Please do not wait until your health becomes your only priority call today and begin the process of learning how to make health your number one priority NOW!

Have you ever been an athlete or played sports competitively? Can you imagine a life where your athletic ability was able to take you to an elite level of competition? What about the life of being an athlete who competes free of injury or pain? I wanted to be the athlete who won her conference races, moved on to nationals, and become an All-American; someone who didn’t have any injury or pain, but unfortunately, I did not experience the athletic career that I desired.
As a child, I went through yearly spinal exams at school to screen for early signs of scoliosis. They always told me that I either had a normal curve or “slight” scoliosis, but that it was nothing that my parents or I needed to worry about, which encouraged false confidence in my spine, and my health. Year after year I was evaluated, but as I have come to learn, these “evaluations” are extremely poor at properly diagnosing scoliosis. We assumed that this was the only evaluation that was needed to determine this condition and was confident in the results. I would learn later in my life that this was far from the truth, and this confidence was in fact, false.
I began running track in 4th grade and fell in love with the hurdles so much that I continued running all the way through college. I began seeing a chiropractor during my junior year of college, at the discretion of my coach, for low back pain and tightness. The pain and tightness were not severe, but I had never seen a chiropractor before, so I sought treatment, hoping that this would alleviate my symptoms and help me to have more successful races. I received adjustments and applied kinesiotape both of which helped; but, only temporarily. I would be back each week getting adjustments because the relief would only last a couple of days. I was frustrated that even with treatment, my race did not improve, and I was staying stagnant in my athletic career.
In 2016 I graduated from college and began searching for a job. I accepted a position here at Back In Motion where I have learned more about my spine and physical self than I ever could have imagined. Through Dr. Cameron’s thorough evaluation of my health history, extensive physical testing, and knowledge of Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP), I was shocked to learn that my spine did not have a normal curve and that I did not have “slight” scoliosis as all of my childhood exams had resulted. My evaluation showed that I have lumbar scoliosis measuring at almost 20 degrees likely due to having an anatomically short leg. I was 22 when I was diagnosed. I was taught that without the proper intervention in this condition, it would inevitably continue to worsen throughout my life. I learned that there is an intervention for scoliosis without having to go through an extremely invasive surgery if it is properly evaluated and caught early enough!
I have also not only learned that organ function is related to your spinal health, but I have experienced how a properly aligned spine can help improve your nerve and organ function. Before my initial evaluation, I never knew that headaches, being irritated when I haven’t eaten for long periods of time, and body temperature fluctuation were considered to be health problems; all of which I used to suffer from on a regular basis. In the short period of time since beginning my postural restoration program, I have lessening low back pain, not only due to a corrective chiropractic program but also by simply adding a lift into my shoe to balance my leg length deficiency. I also have fewer headaches, I do not experience severe irritability without food, and my body temperature stays more regulated.
I can only imagine what my athletic career may have been like if I had known about CBP spinal rehabilitation. If I had been properly evaluated as a child, I may have never developed this condition! If I fixed my spine or had the knowledge to do so earlier in my life, I may have had the opportunity to have the dream athletic career that I had desired; to go to nationals year after year and be one of the best athletes in the country.
I challenge all parents, to give their kids the gift of chiropractic care; help them achieve their highest potential for their future athletic careers. At the very least, have them evaluated to see if there may be a potential problem! Your children deserve the best life possible! A life that is free of injury and pain, and free of organ dysfunction and health problems. I also challenge those of you who may suffer from similar health problems that I had, to give yourself the gift of chiropractic. Choose the life that you deserve. Please do not wait, because your life is happening right now! Your health and your spine may be declining right now!
